Tour Overview...
A day tour of Cambridge is a journey through one of the most prestigious and picturesque university cities in the world. Known for its stunning architecture, rich history and academic heritage, Cambridge offers a perfect blend of charm, tradition and natural beauty.

During your tour, you'll visit key landmarks and experience the essence of this iconic city:

The University of Cambridge Founded in 1209, Cambridge is home to one of the oldest and most renowned universities in the world. You'll explore several of its 31 colleges, each with its own history and architectural style. Highlights include King’s College with its breath taking Chapel, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England, and Trinity College, home to famous figures like Sir Isaac Newton.
The Backs This scenic area is a must-see for visitors, where you can stroll along the river and admire the stunning views of the college buildings set against the backdrop of lush green lawns. It’s one of the most photographed spots in Cambridge and perfect for a peaceful walk.
Punting on the River Cam No visit to Cambridge is complete without a traditional punt ride along the River Cam. Glide past historic colleges, bridges, and weeping willows while your guide shares stories and fascinating facts about the university and the city’s history.
The Fitzwilliam Museum This world-class museum houses an impressive collection of art, antiquities, and manuscripts. Whether you're a fan of classical sculpture or Renaissance paintings, the Fitzwilliam is a cultural gem and a great place to explore during your day in Cambridge.
The Round Church One of only four medieval round churches in England, this unique church offers insight into the city’s early Christian history and offers fantastic views from its tower.
Market Square After exploring the colleges and river, wander through the bustling Market Square, where you can browse local produce, unique crafts, and Cambridge-themed souvenirs. It’s a great spot for lunch or a coffee at one of the many cafes around.
The Cambridge University Botanic Garden If time allows, take a peaceful stroll through this beautifully landscaped garden, home to over 8,000 plant species. It's a serene way to end your tour, surrounded by nature.
A Cambridge day tour is the perfect mix of history, academia and natural beauty, making it an unforgettable experience for visitors. Whether you're interested in learning about the city's intellectual legacy, exploring its beautiful green spaces or simply soaking in the atmosphere of a world-famous university town, Cambridge offers something for every traveller.

Lunch and Notes
For lunch our tour guide will happily give you a number of options to choose from on the day. Please note the guide will not guide you inside the colleges themselves but will tell you all the history you need to know before you enter and how to navigate the sites the best possible way and will then be waiting outside for you when you finish. But the guide will fully guide you around the streets of Cambridge.
Customer Reviews
FANTASTIC TIME! We had the BEST three days with Nick, Jay, Doug, and Peter! Nick is a walking encyclopedia of British history. He’s full of warmth, laughter, and knowledge. As a teacher, I loved his enthusiasm and excitement for the trips and locations we saw. I’m sure he’s given these tours countless times, but his excitement was as if he were seeing them for the first time with us. We visited Stonehenge, Brighton, Bath, Portsmouth and more! Thank you for an unforgettable time! Sincerely, a family of 16 Canadian and American tourists!
